Here is where I park reports and photographs I would like to share with other birders. I’m not an ornithologist so I write with more enthusiasm than authority.

Birding in Botswana and the Caprivi, April 2025

The report of my once-in-a-lifetime (for impecunious pensioners) birding safari with Japie Claassen to Botswana and Namibia, is long, comes in three parts:

Part 1: Beaufort West (South Africa) via Kimberley and Vaalboskraal (South Africa) to Nata and Kasane (Botswana)

Part 2: The Caprivi, from Katima Muililo to Kayova River Lodge (Namibia)

Part 3: Homeward through Botswana: Drotsky’s Cabins, the Island Safari Lodge (Maun), then back via Vaalboskraal and Mokala (South Africa)
